How and where?
Location
The event takes the form of a happening animating the spaces within the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Arts of Prato, Italy, more than ever an appropriate location for a festival with a mission to enquire into the possible hybridations in media and audiovisual languages. The evening will be articulated as a live Tv program, with an emcee, during which the video-works, the environments and performances are introduced by jingles, signature tunes and bumpers. To make things more exciting and spectacular, images will be broadcasted live on 4 cinema maxiscreens, 30 monitors and a 4x4 videowall.
Beyond the amphitheatre zone, where partecipating work will be shown and other parallel sections of the ehibition will run, many other areas and corners of the suggestive facility will provide the most appropriate setting for video-installations, performances, environments and multimedia suk.
Content
The preliminary selection of the entries, kingpin of each yearly edition, is constituted of fast, synthetical works, totally free in format and language, without any form of censorship. Selected entries will be judged by a jury composed of journalists, operators, authors and chaired by famous names in the Italian video-movie industry (these few last years we have had Paolo Virzì and the Manetti Bros.) and by a popular jury, whose jurors will be drawn from the audience.
During these years, the exhibition has grown to include, beyond the competition, retrospective series on the most innovative and experimental authors and groups, overviews on the more recent international productions, showcases on the vibrant reality of web-movies and shorts for Internet, live-act and performances, for a new dimension in entertaining.
